first digit - main alloy element:

1. aluminium

2. copper

3. manganese

4. silicon

5. magnesium

6. magnesium + silicon

7. zinc

8. lithium

second digit - indicates alloy modification. if the second digit is zero it indicates the original alloy; digits 1-9 which are assigned consecutively, indicate alloy modification.

third n fourth digit - have no special signification, there are ordering number.

last digit - temper designation
